Juvederm Family of Fillers – What are Dermal Fillers

Fillers are anything used in the dermis, sub-dermis, or supra-periosteal (meaning in the skin, just below the skin, or just above the bone) to provide structure and support to an area of volume loss...a space that needs filling. There are different types of filler. We like to use products made from Hyaluronic Acid (HA) because of their safety factor. HA is reversible and it’s a synthetic form of something that already occurs in your body, therefore the body does not reject it as something foreign. Juvederm Family of Fillers are the most recognized HA fillers.

You will get an instant gratification from filler, but there is a 1-2 week settling in period. You may like what you see right after treatment, but we know you will continue to see improvement and softening over the next 2 weeks. Filler ranges dramatically in its duration. Some products may last 4-6 months, where others can have up to a 24 months duration.
